LOOKING QUICKLY ELSEWHERE

GIRWOOD, ALASKA
33/40 WeatherWatcher Todd Fosey lives there and he is a forecaster at NWS in nearby Anchorage. He is originally from the Huffman area of NE Birmingham) For Sunday he reported a high/low of 16/-6 with 44 inches of snow on the ground.

MOUNT WASHINGTON, NEW HAMPSHIRE
Going to be a very cold week atop that famous peak and all of New England. At mid-morning, Mount Washington was reporting a temperature of 1 (yes, only one!) with winds averaging 56 mph and a win chill of 30 below. Visibility was only 1/16th mile in blowing snow (translation: virtually whiteout conditions) Since midnight, winds have gusted as highas 84 knots which is 97 mph.
