Things Calming Tonight: More Storms Tomorrow?

| February 7, 2017 @ 7:29 pm

Things are calming across Alabama at this hour.

Storms are lined up along I-65 from Calera to Clanton and Verbena and on to Millbrook and the city of Montgomery tonight.

The strongest storms are between Millbrook and Montgomery.

They are not severe and are not expected to become severe.

They feature some lightning and torrential rains. There will probably be some gusty winds as well.

Upstream, the storms over Mississippi have basically evaporated. One cell is crossing I-59 southwest of Livingston.

The SPC has posted a marginal risk of severe weather for the northern half of Alabama tomorrow ahead of an approaching cold front. There is low certainty in this forecast, bt if we get enough heating during the day, a few strong storms could form with a damaging wind/hail threat.
