Fresh Shot Of Cold Air Tomorrow

An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

DRY DAYS: If you are looking for rain, you will have a hard time finding it around here for the next 7 days. Occasional shots of dry and cold continental air will keep the moisture return shut down, so we just have to figure out the highs and lows.

COLDER TOMORROW: A new surge of cold air blows in here tomorrow; both the NAM and the GFS keep us in the 40s all afternoon with a very chill north wind. Then, a significant freeze is likely by daybreak Wednesday, with lows from 18 in the colder valleys to 35 on the ridgetops. Most places will wind up somewhere between 25 and 29 degrees.

WEEKEND PEEK: A fairly robust upper disturbance will pass right over us on Saturday, but you can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip, so we might see a few scattered clouds, but for now we see no reason to mention any chance of significant rain. Yet another surge of cooler and drier air blows in here Saturday night and Sunday. Temperatures will remain below average for the next 7 days (at least).

VOODOO LAND: The models are pretty much useless in trying to pin down specific weather details beyond seven days, since every run looks different. But, most runs have hinted at a decent rain event right at the end of the month. We just don’t know much much, and when. Watch the Weather Xtreme video and you will see the NAO remains negative through early December, so don’t expect much of a warming trend anytime soon. The continent is very cold right now.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left. We will have the new episode posted by 10:30 or so tonight.

TWITTER: Don’t forget, you can follow our news and weather updates from ABC 33/40 on Twitter here. And, my personal Twitter feed is here if you want to keep up with my adventures in life. Twitter is a short messaging service you can receive via the web, cell phone, or IM.

I had a great time today down at Uniontown Elementary School in Perry County; I journeyed on roads less traveled; I will post some pictures later! Be watching for the 5th and 6th graders at Uniontown on the KIDCAM today at 5:00 on ABC 33/40 News. I will have the next Weather Xtreme video here by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow!
