The National Weather Service has issued freeze warnings for North and Central Alabama. The warnings are in effect from late Tuesday evening through noon Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to reach the teens over the Tennessee Valley, the lower 20s over northern Alabama, and lower 20s to near 30F across Central Alabama.

This will be a damaging freeze for most of the area. Protect tender vegetation.

The freeze warning will almost certainly have to be extended into Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
