Bedtime Look at Alabama Weather
A southwest to northeast oriented warm front extends across Central Alabama tonight.
It extends from roughly Grove Hill to Thorsby to Alex City to Carrollton GA.
Moderate rain is south of the boundary. To the north of the boundary, the rain tapers off to just light rain. Except over Hale and Bibb Counties, where some convection was developing. Still no lightning, but it will cause some moderate to occasionally heavy rain as it moves northeast into Shelby and southern Jefferson Counties.
I think we are seeing the upper trough to our west sharpen up. It will cut off, creating an upper low to our north tomorrow. The very cold air aloft will allow for a mix and then changeover to snow late in the day and into Sunday night.
Plenty of moisture will be around for more light showers Monday, likley in the form of snow.
Although temperatures aloft will be cold , surface temperatures will not go below freezing until Monday night, so no accumulation problems are anticipated.
Tomorrow will feature highs hovering around 50. It will drop into the upper 30s tomorrow night and stay there Monday.
