Beautiful & Still Quite Breezy At Midday, But Skies Are Clear

| April 7, 2017 @ 12:37 pm

HOW’S THE WEATHER AT MIDDAY?
It’s a rather cool midday across Central Alabama at the noon hour, but I do not believe you can get a more clear sky than what’s overhead right now. Temperatures are currently running in the mid 50s in the northern locations of the area, to the upper 50s to lower 60s in the central locations, with lower to mid 60s in the central locations of the area. The warm spot at this time is currently Montgomery at 65 degrees, while the cool spot is Cullman at 56 degrees.

WEATHER FOR THE REST OF THE DAY
It will continue to be a sunny day across Central Alabama, and temperatures will be cool for this time of the year. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 60s to 70 degrees throughout the area from north to south. It will be quite breezy out there as well, with winds out of the northwest at 10-20 MPH. Those clear skies will continue into the evening and overnight hours, and those gusty winds will slow a little, and will be out of the north at 10-15 MPH. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 30s. There may be some patchy frost in the locations to the north.

THE WEEKEND WEATHER
Sunny skies and warmer temperatures are expected for the weekend, and what a weekend it will be. Afternoon highs will be running in the lower 70s on Saturday, and the upper 70s to near 80 degrees on Sunday.

ON THIS DAY IN WEATHER HISTORY – April 7, 1980
Five counties in Central Arkansas were declared disaster areas by the President of the United States, after severe thunderstorms spawned tornadoes that ripped through the area. Those same storms also produced baseball size hail and high winds.
