Perfect Weather Warning Issued for North and Central Alabama

| April 9, 2017 @ 11:40 am

Highs in the upper 70s combined with dewpoints in the lower 70s along with near total sunshine has prompted The Weather Factory to issue a Perfect Weather Warning for Central Alabama for today. (It’s the only warning James will let us issue.)

A Perfect Weather Warning means that perfect weather is imminent or is already occurring. Take immediate action to clear your calendar and get outside. Hiking, biking, fishing and golfing are all recommended actions, but any outdoor activity will do.

TODAY’s BEAUTIFUL WEATHER IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY: High Pressure.

High Pressure is what you want when only the best weather will so. High Pressure consistently gives you the finest experience weather wise. With its sinking and diverging air you get plenty of glorious sunshine! High Pressure! It’s what’s for weather!

Two regions of high pressure are in control of Alabama’s weather today: a ridge of high pressure centered over the ArkLaMiss and a surface high over southwestern Virginia. With near total sunshine today, highs will soar into the upper 70s across the area. Montgomery will probably hit 80F.

HEADS UP: The Day Two, Day, Three and the Day 4-8 Perfect Weather Outlooks all show varying risks for Perfect Weather. In fact, the Day Two (effective at 7 a m. tomorrow) is a rare High Risk for Perfect Weather. A Perfect Weather Watch has been issued for tomorrow. It actually may be too warm by the end of the week for us to call it perfect weather here in Alabama.

NEXT RAIN CHANCES: A weak front will try to approach Alabama at midweek. A few showers could reach Northwest Alabama by Tuesday afternoon and there will be a chance of a shower overnight as the front settles into Central Alabama. Its proximity on Wednesday means that there could be a shower or storm, especially during the afternoon.

ISOLATED AFTERNOON/EVENING SHOWERS AND STORMS: This week will mark a turning point in our annual weather. It will be the first time that we could see isolated afternoon shower and storms popping up as the result of daytime heating. We will live with those until September.

TEMPERATURES THIS WEEK: Look for lower to middle 80s all week for highs. Lows will be in the 50s.

FORECAST UPDATED: The Seven Day Forecast had been updated to add lots of perfects and the term “isolated afternoon and evening showers and storms”.
