A big chunk of Alabama has experienced one of the most widespread drenching rains that we have seen in a long, long time.

The latest Warning because of that is a Flash Flood Warning for Jefferson County. This includes most of the county and is in effect until 7:45. Additional rain amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible in the county between now and 7:45.

I think that later this morning we will discover that numerous locations in the state received well over 2 inches of rain. It was a real soaker.

At Guin, up in NW Alabama, the total was approaching 6 inches at last report. A number of counties across the Tennessee Valley were under a Flash Flood Watch.
