Today’s Weather At Midday Does Not Have A “Case Of The Mondays”
It is a very nice and mild day at this point on your Monday, with sunny skies across Central Alabama.
Temperatures are feeling really nice at this moment as well, with lower to mid 70s across the area. The cool spots of Alexander City, Talladega, and Cullman are currently at 71 degrees, while the warm spot of Demopolis is currently at 76 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to warm into the lower to mid 80s across the area this afternoon under sunny skies. Those clear skies will continue into the evening and overnight hours, with temperatures at the 7PM hour in the mid to upper 70s, and cooling off into the mid to upper 50s for the overnight lows.
A near “Carbon Copy” forecast for your Tuesday across Central Alabama. The calm pattern that is currently in control of our weather will continue to bring us sunny skies and warm temperatures. Afternoon highs will be a little warmer tomorrow, with mid to upper 80s expected across the area. The good news is that with the dewpoints expected to be in the 50s across the area, those high temperatures will not feel all that bad. Once again, the evening for Tuesday looks to be clear with mild temperatures, with upper 70s to the lower 80s at 7PM, and overnight lows in the lower to mid 60s.

THIS DAY IN WEATHER HISTORY – May 8, 1988
Thunderstorms in the Mississippi Valley spawned a total of 57 tornadoes, including 24 in Wisconsin, and a record 22 tornadoes in one day in Iowa. There were also more than 200 reports of large hail and damaging winds. Baseball size hail was reported at Terre Bonne Mo. At Rockford IL one person was temporarily trapped inside a portable toilet toppled by thunderstorm winds gusting to 80 mph. Fortuntely, not a single person was killed in the “Mother’s Day” tornado outbreak.
