It’s Warming Up Out There Across Central Alabama At Midday

| May 15, 2017 @ 12:30 pm

SUNNY AND QUITE WARM OUT THERE AT MIDDAY
Skies across Central Alabama are sunny with just a few fair-weather cumulus clouds floating overhead. The story is pretty much the same over the entire southeastern United States. For the remainder of the afternoon, skies will be sunny and temperatures will be approaching the hot classification (in my book). Afternoon highs will make it into the upper 80s to the lower 90s. Those clear skies will continue into the evening and the overnight hours, with temperatures in the lower to mid 80s at 7PM, and falling to the lower to mid 60s across Central Alabama for the overnight lows.

*** CODE ORANGE ALERT ***
The Air Quality Index for the Birmingham Metropolitan area throughout today will be at 105, which falls in the code orange definition, due to increased levels of Ozone and Particulate Matter (PM2.5). Active children and adults, and people with lung disease, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.

Temperatures at 12:25PM are running in the 80s already, with 87 degrees in Eufaula as the warm spot. The cool spot is currently Cullman at 80 degrees.

MUCH OF THE SAME FOR TUESDAY
A near “Carbon Copy” forecast for the second day of the work week… Sunny skies and very warm, as this dry weather pattern continues. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s to the lower 90s. The evening and overnight hours will be mainly clear, with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s at 7PM, and overnight lows in the lower to mid 60s. Birmingham may stay a little warmer in the upper 60s.
