The precipitation shield is shrinking rather quickly over NW Alabama but many communities reporting snow.

My grad daughter reports steady big flakes. She lives between Russellville and Red Bay but closer to Russellville.

Two inches of snow reported on the ground at Hackleburg. Ironically, it was occurring along with flash-flooding on some local streets. This because of much heavy rain overnight and again this morning.

Police report some sleet on the ground in NW Jefferson County.

We will post some spot reports in a few minutes.
