Mid-Evening Update

| December 11, 2008 @ 9:32 pm | 8 Replies

Scanning the wires for information just after 9 o’clock hour tonight…and there really is nothing to report.

The radar is quiet. A few snow flurries out there. Vic Bell up at Scrougeout in NE Etowah County reports pretty good flurries with a few big flakes mixed in….wind has to be over 30 mph.

Skies have cleared over the northwestern quarter of the area. The clearing trend will continue overnight.

Temperatures are in the lower 30s in the snowy areas. Falling into the upper and middle 30s elsewhere under the clearing. And dropping into the 30s rest of the area.

Winds are out of the northwest and breezy.

TRAVELERS ADVISORY (Remember those, JB?)
Please be careful out there all across the area tonight and tomorrow morning. Be on the lookout for some black ice where water or slush has frozen, especially on bridges. In areas that have received snow, roads may be very slippery and snow covered. Temperatures below freezing will make the problem worse overnight.

Avoid driving on snow covered roads. Take it easy and leave plenty of time to reach your destination if you must travel.
