Areal Flood Advisory Issued for Dallas, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Sumter until 7:15P

Locations in this advisory have already received upwards of 2.00 inches in rainfall totals, and with another 1-2 inches expected, minor flooding could occur.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Northern Marengo County in southwestern Alabama…
Western Perry County in Alabama…
Greene County in west central Alabama…
Hale County in west central Alabama…
West central Dallas County in south central Alabama…
Central Sumter County in west central Alabama…

* Until 715 PM CDT

* At 314 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated steady moderate rain that
will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Demopolis, Marion, Eutaw, Greensboro, Linden, Uniontown, Jefferson,
Forkland, Thomaston, Akron, Boligee, Union, Gainesville, Newbern,
Myrtlewood, Faunsdale, Dayton, Vaiden, Consul and West Greene.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
