The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for…
Eastern Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…
Northeastern Bibb County in Alabama…
Western Jefferson County in Alabama…

* Until 530 PM CDT

* At 228 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain
continued to spread across areas that have already received two to
three inches during the past 24 hours. This will produce localized
flooding of some streets and roadways in the area…especially
near small creeks and streams and in low-lying flood prone areas
with poor drainage.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Birmingham, Hoover, Bessemer, Hueytown, Fairfield, Sumiton,
Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Adamsville, Brighton, Lipscomb,
Graysville, Lake View, Brookwood, Sylvan Springs, Vance, Woodstock,
Brookside, West Blocton and Mulga.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
