Strong Storms Moving Up Through Western Jefferson County

| August 31, 2017 @ 5:31 pm

We have a strong storm that is currently affecting the western parts of Jefferson County, especially the communities of Sylvan Springs, Rock Creek, Concord, Hueytown, Midfield, and Bessemer. The storm is showing some slight rotation on the southern end of the storm, but at this point it is not strong enough to raise concern.

Fortunately, we are starting to lose the heating of the day, so the possibility for tornadoes will start to drop within the next hour or so. As for now, stay weather aware and be ready to move in your place of safety just in case this storm starts spinning stronger.

Locations in the path are Mulga, Minor, Forestdale, Adamsville, Fairfield, and Graysville. It will likely stay west of I-65.
