Heads Up Birmingham Metro: Tornadic Storm in Bibb County Heading Your Way

UPDATE 733 PM
The NWS has canceled the SOUTHERN Tornado Warning in Bibb County. But the NORTHERN Tornado Warning continues in effect for areas from West Blocton across rural Bibb County to the Jefferson and Shelby County line.

UPDATE 730 PM
The tornadic storm in Bibb County is passing just west of West Blocton right now. The storm had decreased somewhat but now seems to be ramping up again. It will pass south of Woodstock and into southwestern Jefferson County near Bucksville and McCalla and Eastern Valley, perhaps touching northwestern Shelby County.

LATE REPORT 710 PM
Stovepipe shaped tornado reportedly on the ground near US-82 in Bibb County, 4 miles southwest of Eoline. Power flashes evident.

Potentially dangerous tornado is on the ground!

Numerous reports of tornado on the ground in Bibb County!!

The storm west of Centreville and Brent is showing strong rotation and a tornado warning is in effect.

A tornado debris signature is now present.

It will move into southwestern Jefferson and northwestern Shelby Counties between 730 and 745 p.m.

The tornado will generally affect areas south of I-59/20. Areas from McCalla and Bessemer down through Helena, Hoover, Ross Bridge and other over the mountain communities will be under potential threat.

There are lots of activities across the area including football games. Organizers need to be preparing to move fans to safety.
