Tornado Warning Issued For Parts of Tuscaloosa and Jefferson County Until 8:15PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
East central Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…
South central Jefferson County in central Alabama…

* Until 815 PM CDT

* At 736 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over West Blocton, or 12 miles north of Centreville,
moving northeast at 30 mph. This storm has a history of producing
tornadoes.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Bessemer, Hueytown, Lake View, Vance, North Johns, Splash
Adventure, Tannehill Ironworks State Park, Concord, North Bibb,
McCalla, Promenade Tannehill, Bucksville, Weller, Bent Brook Golf
Club, McAdory, Caffee Junction, Bessemer Airport and Lake Cyrus.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
