Warm and Muggy November Saturday

| November 4, 2017 @ 3:27 pm

We have seen more sun than clouds for much of our Saturday, but we are seeing a few showers on the radar this afternoon. Not a lot of them, and overall few and far between, but they are producing very brief heavy downpours.

Temperatures are in the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon and with dew points in the 60s in most locations, it is fairly muggy for early November.

Through the evening hours, expect passing clouds with temperatures in the lower 60s, and there could be some areas of fog developing overnight.

ALABAMA FOOTBALL: Alabama is hosting LSU tonight (7:00p CT kickoff) at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa… the sky will be mostly cloudy with just the chance of a brief shower during the game. About 75 degrees at kickoff, upper 60s by the fourth quarter.

FALL BACK ONTO STANDARD TIME: A friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time ends tonight. We fall back on Standard Time at 2AM in the morning. Don’t forget to set your clocks back before heading to bed, and gain that extra hour of sleep tonight. We will stay on Standard Time until March 11th, 2018. It is also a great time to check/change those batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and those weather radios.

FOR TOMORROW: We are expecting more sun than clouds and one again a few isolated showers will be possible, but do not expect much to be in the radar this afternoon. It will be another warm and muggy day with highs mainly in the lower 80s.

WEEKEND SEVERE WEATHER SUNDAY: Not here, but the SPC is expecting a very active day of weather for portions of the Midwest as severe thunderstorms, capable of large hail, damaging winds, and a couple tornadoes, will be possible from parts of the mid Mississippi Valley eastward to the lower Great Lakes Sunday into early Sunday night. This area is already highlighted in an “enhanced risk” (level 3 of 5) for Sunday.
