Early Tonight in Alabama
Tornado Warning continues for Russell County, in SE Alabama until 7:45.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) says the better chance of tornadoes for the next few hours will be over Extreme SE Alabama and SW Georgia.
At 7:40 PM, the strongest thunderstorms in Alabama were over the SE counties of Henry, Barbour and Russellville and offshore south of the Alabama Coast.
NWS in Mobile just issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the south part of both Mobile and Baldwin County. The severe thunderstorm was 23 miles SW of Dauphin Island.
Moving NE at 65 MPH. That is correct–65 MPH.
It will affect Fort Morgan, Magnolia Springs and Dauphin Island.
Meanwhile to the west, a long line of mostly light showers extended down the west side of the state near the Decatur-Double Springs-Demopolis-Chatom line. This line is near a cold front that will move east across Alabama tonight.
Temperature down to 56 in Columbus, Miss., with west winds over 20 MPH.
Chilly 40s over almost all of Arkansas at this hour.
Some very beneficial rain amounts in numerous Alabama communities today. Will post a list later.
