Coming into the Light

| January 31, 2009 @ 10:59 pm | 23 Replies

James says that I have come over to the light.

The light to which he refers is the Apple light. On Friday, I finally got an I Phone. He says that next I will be buying Mac Book Pro.

The delay is because I am abhorrent of replacing a cell phone until it is two years old. And mine Blackberry went into a Boston puddle during a nor’easter in June 2007. AT&T decreed that I could take the plunge a few months early and avoided being pinned with a nitwit label by the WeatherBrains crew.

Actually, the fellow that I always turn to at our local AT&T store is outstanding. He makes everything simple and is very customer service centered.

My first twenty four hours with the iPhone has certainly exceeded my expectations.

I already knew about Pandora, the Internet radio station. It even interfaces to my Facebook with my favorite songs and artists. I had heard about Shazam, the music recognition program. It is every bit as amazing as I heard it would be. The GPS function is very useful. The email client is very nice. I have loaded Yammer, which we use internally at Integral to keep us with what each of us is doing.

Now, I am calling on the legions of iPhone users out there to share their favorite apps and accessories. I am sure that this brilliant group can come up with many, many items in all categories. Please share anything that you are pleased with, especially any weather apps that stand out in your mind.
