All winter precipitation has moved out of the area. A few flurries remain possible through midnight in northeast Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 9 PM CST FRIDAY…

* WHAT… Freezing rain expected. The ice will result in very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including during the evening commute on Friday. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected.

* WHERE… Colbert and Franklin counties.

* WHEN… From 8 AM to 9 PM CST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… Temperatures will remain below freezing through Saturday, so any residual moisture could refreeze and cause slick travel.

A cold front and upper level weather system will bring much colder air and a light wintry mix of precipitation to portions of the Tennessee Valley Friday.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM FRIDAY TO MIDNIGHT CST FRIDAY NIGHT…

* WHAT… A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow expected. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Friday. Total snow and sleet accumulations around one half an inch and ice accumulations of a trace to around one tenth of an inch are expected.

* WHERE… Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison and Jackson Counties in Alabama.

* WHEN… From 8:00 AM Friday to midnight CST Friday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… Changeover from rain to wintry precipitation will occur from west to east Friday morning to Friday afternoon and end as light snow late Friday night into Saturday morning.
