Wet at Times this Weekend

| January 27, 2018 @ 12:47 pm

It is cloudy, gray, but thankfully mild January day and weekend. Temperatures this afternoon are mainly in the mid to upper 50s across North/Central Alabama.

Radar is active today as rain continues to move into the area from the southwest, but it is strictly a rain event this weekend; no storms, no severe weather, and no winter weather. Also, the rain is mainly of the light to moderate intensity, which will cause not flooding.

Periods of rainfall will continue today and the rain will increase in coverage tonight and into tomorrow morning as the low passes to the south. Through the day tomorrow, the rain will end from west to east. Over the next 24 hours, rain amounts will vary from around 1/4 to one inch over the state, with higher totals along and near the Gulf Coast. Tomorrow will be mainly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
