Dry Today, Rain Arrives Tonight

| February 3, 2018 @ 1:12 pm

Plenty of sunshine this afternoon, but looking off towards the south and west, numerous clouds are heading our way and should begin to overspread the state during the afternoon and evening hours.

Temperatures are warmer this afternoon with many locations in the lower and mid 50s. We remain dry for the remainder of the daylight hours, but that will change later this evening.

RAIN RETURNS TONIGHT: Rain will begin to arrive into our western and southern counties later as we head into tonight, and should overspread the state especially after midnight. The rain to the southwest is heading our direction and will be expanding in coverage as we head into the overnight hours.

Temperatures will be in the 40s overnight, so no winter weather issues and no severe storms, and likely thunder will not be an issues.

SOGGY SUNDAY: We start tomorrow off wet with widespread rain especially for the first half of tomorrow. Heading out the door tomorrow, you will definitely need the rain gear, but the rain should gradually wind down from west to east through the afternoon hours. A nice soaking is expected for much of Alabama with rain amounts of 1/2 to 1.5 inches likely.

No severe weather threat, and probably not much thunder. Clouds will linger for much of Sunday afternoon, but some locations in west Alabama should see some peeks of sunshine. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s.
