9:30 am Alabama Quick Look
Light rain is trying to get into NW Alabama uninvited.
A bit ahead of schedule. Radar shows some already over the Extreme NW but all or most of that may not be reaching the ground.
At 9:35 am, the ABC 33/40 Skywatcher at Millport reported a mix of light rain and light sleet. That is in Lamar County near the Mississippi border.
Rain over much of Mississippi, especially north and central.
At 9am, it was 40 with heavy rain at Greenwood in the Mississippi Delta. Over near the Alabama border, Columbus had 37 degrees with light sleet. Tupelo was reporting “mixed precipitation” which probably is a mix of light rain and light sleet.
Don’t be surprised to hear of a little light sleet over NW Alabama later this morning but temperatures are moderating.
SEVERE WEATHER
Storm Prediction Center shows a”slight risk” over NW Alabama later today/tonight and for all of the state Wednesday.
