Only One Shower On Radar While The Rest Of The Area Is Mostly Sunny At Midday

| May 7, 2018 @ 12:47 pm

RADAR CHECK AT 12:35 PM
While radar is clear at this point for nearly all of North and Central Alabama, we do have a shower near the Gainesville and Epes communities in Sumter county, and near Boligee in Greene County. At this point, it’s just a light rain producer with no lightning, and is moving southeastward towards Demopolis.

The rest of the area is enjoying mostly sunny skies and temperatures ranging from the upper 70s at the Tennessee state line to the mid-80s in the extreme southern parts of Central Alabama. Birmingham was sitting at 82 degrees at 12:35 PM.

For the remainder of the afternoon and into the early evening hours, we can expect a few more clouds to pop up in the skies making them partly cloudy, and we do have a very small risk of a few isolated to scattered afternoon showers. Afternoon highs will top out in the 80s throughout the area, with the odds for any one spot getting rain being less than 1-in-5. For tonight, skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear as all rain chances will have dissipated before we reach 9:00 PM. Overnight lows will bottom out in the mid-50s to the lower 60s.

Tuesday will be a warm and fantastic day across North and Central Alabama. Skies will be mainly sunny and temperatures topping out in the upper 70s in the extreme northeastern parts of North Alabama, to the upper 80s in the extreme southern parts of Central Alabama. Lows throughout the area will be in the mid-50s to the lower 60s underneath mainly clear skies.
