The Power of Changing the Little Things in Life

| May 17, 2018 @ 6:00 am

There is no question that as we head further into the 21st century, there will be an increasing need for mankind to develop even more sophisticated ways in which we can minimize our collective carbon footprint.  Having said that, it is worth noting that some of the biggest changes anyone can make in their personal lifestyle to make the biggest impact on the planet’s ultimate longevity and health are often relatively easy to make happen.  That is why, as opposed to constantly feeling “overwhelmed” or “oppressed” by advertisement after advertisement discussing ways in which you can reduce your net impact on the global environment, there are many minor things one can do which can go a long way in solving global environmental pollution dilemmas.

One such example of minor things which anyone can opt to do to make a positive change in the Earth’s global environmental systems would be to view news and journal articles online, rather than having them delivered to your home.  By doing this alone, there would be a tremendous number of trees and paper saved all over the world in a relatively short amount of time and would lessen the stress on deforesting efforts in critical forests and rainforests around the globe.  Moreover, with the onset of devices such as Apple iPads, Kindles, and various models of cutting-edge smartphones, this has now become easier than ever to do at this point in history.

Another simple thing which everyone can do through some simple research and investigation is implementing consistent recycling routines.  More and more states across the United States and many countries around the world are collectively working to dramatically increase their efforts to join the recycling revolution.  The reason for why such a comprehensively global recycling initiative is so important is directly tied to the fact that in reusing and recycling various forms of plastic and aluminum, there can also be a lot less stress placed on mines and quarries around the world to mass excavate precious metals and materials to make various synthetic products which we use in our everyday lives nowadays.

Another important piece which people undermine the true value and importance of is the value of incorporating more forms of mass-transportation and car-pooling into their everyday lives.  Through getting into the habit of routinely using various forms of mass transportation while going about one’s daily routine, any individual can lessen their individual demand for fossil fuel consumption which consequently releases more critical fossil fuel emission greenhouse gases into the global atmosphere.  Thus, by reducing the frequency in which automotive vehicles are used on an individual basis, this would consequently reduce the level of future impacts society delivers to the global atmosphere and Earth’s oceans as we move further into the 21st century.
