It’s too bad the Davis Cup matches can’t be outdoors today here in Birmingham, but the BJCC has been a great venue. Andy Roddick won the first set inwhat could be the deciding match for the U.S. this afternoon

Outside across Central Alabama, temperatures are in the middle and upper 70s with a mix of clouds and sun. No showers in Alabama at this time, although there are showers and storms on the Memphis radar from eastern Arkansas to Tunica to east of Memphis.

It is windy across the state with southwest winds averaging 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Tornado watches cover areas from southeastern Missouri to Indiana. Several tornado warnings have been issued.

There could be a shower over northwest Alabama this aftenoon but chances are small.
