Areal Flood Advisory Issued For Parts Of Greene & Hale Counties Until 3:00 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Greene County in west central Alabama…
Southern Hale County in west central Alabama…

* Until 300 PM CDT.

* At 102 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms was spreading across the area. Rainfall of one to two inches has fallen in some locations…and additional localized amounts of one to two inches is possible during the next hour. This will produced localized flooding of roadways in the area…especially near small creeks and streams and in low-lying areas prone to flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…Eutaw, Greensboro, Forkland, Boligee, Gainesville, Newbern, Walden Quarters, West Greene, Thornhill, Arcola, Wedgeworth, Tishabee, Greensboro Municipal Airport, New West Greene, Allison, Duffys Bend, Sawyerville, New Mount Hebron, Gallion and Eutaw Municipal Airport.
