Areal Flood Advisory Issued For Parts Of Coosa County Until 2:30 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Western Coosa County in east central Alabama…

Until 230 PM CDT.

At 132 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Rainfall of one to two inches has already fallen over the area and up to another inch is possible. Brief localized flooding of roadways in the area will occur…especially near small creeks and streams and in low-lying flood prone areas with poor drainage.

Some locations that will experience flooding include… Dollar, Marble Valley, Higgins Ferry Park, Mitchell Lake, Lay Lake and Paint Creek.
