Alberto Has Made Landfall Just West Of Panama City Beach

The center of Subtropical Storm Alberto has now come ashore on the northwestern Florida Gulf Coast just west of Panama City Beach at Laguna Beach. Maximum sustained winds have dropped down to 50 MPH with gusts up to 60 MPH. The minimum central pressure was at 994 mb, or 29.35 inches. Very heavy rain and strong winds are occurring just a few miles out from the center of circulation, especially on the north and western sides of the center.

Alberto will continue to move slowly off to the north for the next several hours and will make it just south of the Alabama/Florida state line later this evening around 7:00 PM. By that time, Alberto will have weakened and maximum sustained winds should be around 45 MPH with gusts up to 55 MPH possible.

Florida locations that are in the path of the strongest winds within the next few hours will be Lynn Haven, Westville, Vernon, Ebro, Bonifay, Chipley, Alford, and Wausau.
