The Flash Flood Warning Remains In Effect Until 6:00 PM CDT For Western Lauderdale, Colbert And Franklin Counties

…THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT FOR WESTERN LAUDERDALE…COLBERT AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES… At 511 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that torrential rainfall associated with Alberto continued to fall over the area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have already fallen across most of the warning area, with 5 to 7 inches in a few locations. Flash flooding is already occurring, and will persist through at least 6 PM CDT. Some locations that will experience flooding include… Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Cherokee, Littleville and St. Florian.

    Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
    Franklin County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 303 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen in the last hour and a half. An additional one and a half to three inches is possible over the portions warning area over the next three hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
    Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red
    Bay, Phil Campbell, Cherokee, Littleville and St. Florian.
