Daily Climate Report for Birmingham: May 31st, 2018
The Magic City had a chance to dry out yesterday as no rain fell at the Birmingham Airport, so there was hardly any relief from the hot and humid conditions.
Yesterday started off with a morning low 71 degrees and heated up to 90 degrees for the afternoon high. The record high of 95 was set back in 2011, while the record low of 40 was set back in 1984. We ended up with an average temperature for the month of May at 75.5 degrees, which is 4.9 degrees warmer than the normal monthly average of 70.6 degrees.
Birmingham ended up with 6.98″ of rain for the month of May, which is 1.99″ above normal for the month. The year-to-date total is now up to 28.85″ which is 4.88″ above normal.
