Mike Umscheid is a well known storm chaser who works for the NWS in Dodge City, Kansas.

He was working the radar Friday night and issuing warnings as a long lived, cyclic supercell thunderstorm roared to life over southwestern Kansas.

Mike is responsible for saving countless lives in the town of Greensburg with his well worded and urgent warnings and statements.

Our loyal reader Mike Wilhelm pointed us to Mr. Umscheid’s blog, Under the Meso. His personal story about the devastating tornado is gripping. Thanks to both Mikes.
