Spring has arrived!
As of the time of this blog post, 1144 GMT, or 6:44 am CDT, the sun is crossing the equator, meaning that Spring has begun in the Northern Hemisphere! As you read this post…here is some familiar music I associate with Spring (open in new window). Enjoy it (and identify it, hint: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nickolaus, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead).
The geochron-style image from the US Naval Observatory shows the current areas of daylight/dark across the globe right now. Notice how it’s evenly distributed north-south.
Early morning visible satellite images also show the daylight now reaching the polar regions more evenly than it has been.
Cool.
