Storms are intensifying over southern Mississippi into Southwest and West Central Alabama tonight.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect until 1 a.m. for parts of Marengo, Sumter, Choctaw and Clarke Counties.

These storms are lifting northeast and will continue to bring the threat of severe weather over the southern half of Central Alabama for the next few hours.

In addition, the threat of flooding is very real.
