Strong Storms Over the Eastern Half of Birmingham Metro

They extend from between Morris and Pinson to Roebuck through Avondale and Mountain Brook to Cahaba Heights.

Sloss Fest has been suspended temporarily for the weather.

A new storm has formed near the I-65 and I-459 interchange.

Others in Shelby County extend from Chelsea to Vincent.

Here is a closer look at the Birmingham storms:

In West Alabama, strong storms extend from Akron in Hale County to Geiger in northern Sumter County.

Storms in the Tuscaloosa area have weakened.

Expect lots of dangerous lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds. Be in safe shelter as these dangerous storms approach.
