The NWS Jackson reports that fire dept/rescue reports TSTM WND DMG at 06:42 PM CDT — pine trees sheared off at ground. possible tornado. 100 yard wide damage path. power lines also down in western Chickasaw county in Northeast Mississippi. This activity is moving into NW Marion County, Alabama at this time. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Marion County. The most dangerous part of the storm is approaching Hamilton.

The Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens [AL] till 8:15 PM CDT.

Although instability is decreasing across the area, wind shear will continue to increase through the late evening hours. We could have spin up tornadoes with any thunderstorm updrafts that hold together.

We are getting some new development from southern Walker back down into Tuscaloosa County at this time. This is from the increasing ascent ahead of the upper disturbance and surface low.
