…Patchy locally dense fog possible across northern Alabama and
southern middle Tennessee this morning…

Satellite data and surface observations suggest that areas of fog
have developed across much of the Tennessee Valley this morning.
Although visibilities are primarily in the 3 to 5 mile range, locally
dense fog will be possible in a few locations.

The potential for dense fog and visibility reductions to less than
one quarter of a mile will be highest in large river valleys, such as
the Tennessee, Elk, and Paint Rock, as well as in the Dekalb Valley
of northeast Alabama. Motorists traveling through the region this
morning are urged to remain alert for rapidly fluctuating visibility,
and use caution when driving.

The fog should dissipate rather quickly around or shortly after 8
AM CDT.
