Strong Storms Across Central Alabama Producing Lightning, Gusty Winds and Small Hail

| August 12, 2018 @ 2:06 pm

Storms have formed this afternoon in the I-20 Corridor from west of Pell City to Birmingham back into northern Tuscaloosa and northern Greene Counties.

Stronger storms are over eastern Jefferson County, south of Liberty Park, and over western Jefferson County between Hueytown and Bessemer. Pea size hail has been reported in Hueytown.

Other storms extend from southwestern Chilton county back into Perry and Dallas Counties. More are over West central Alabama’s Sumter and Choctaw Counties.

Be alert for the dangerous lightning. When thunder roars, go indoors, because you are close enough to be struck when you can hear it.
