A Perfect Weather Warning is in effect for Central Alabama for this afternoon.

Mostly sunny skies, light winds and temperatures rising into the 70s have prompted the alert.

Tonight will feature increasing clouds as southerly winds increase ahead of our next weathermaker. A little light rain or light showers could develop after midnight. Lows will drop into the upper 50s.

We may see a little sunshine early Sunday morning, but it will be cloudy for the most part tomorrow. Temperatures will rise into the 70s again and dewpoints should slowly come up through the day, reaching the 60s by afternoon. They should peak in the lower 60s across Central Alabama by late afternoon.

The warm front should stay well to the south over South Alabama, keeping the main focus for severe weather to our south.

As a strong cold fronts pushes our way Sunday night, the atmosphere may generate enough instability for a few strong to severe storms. Again, widespread severe weather is not expected.

Monday and Tuesday will be very chilly with the possibility of freezes Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Clouds will be fairly prevalent, and there could even be a little light rain or snow flurries, especially over North Alabama. Highs will only be in the 50s on Monday, and there are signs we might not get out of the 40s Tuesday!

All growers should pay close attention to later forecasts and warnings from the NWS with temperatures gettings into the 20s in some spots across North and Central Alabama Monday night and Tuesday night.
