Rain Is Moving Out, But Clouds Remain At Midday

| December 21, 2018 @ 12:13 pm

Conditions Across Central Alabama At 12:00 PM: Nearly all of the shower activity has moved out of Central Alabama as we have reached the noon hour on the Friday before Christmas. A few light showers and sprinkles are all that is left over the eastern part of the area mainly stretching from just south of Jacksonville down just to the northeast of Alexander City. No returns on the radar for the rest of the area at this time. Skies are cloudy and temperatures are currently in the upper 30s to the mid-40s across the area and it is still rather breezy at times out of the northwest at 10-20 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH. Birmingham was at 41 degrees at the time.

Weather For The Rest Of Your Friday: While a few light showers and sprinkles may linger around for a couple more hours over the eastern parts of Central Alabama, the main shower activity is finished for the area. We’ll stay cloudy throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening hours, but those clouds should slowly begin to move out during the evening and overnight hours. Afternoon highs should be in the 40s across the area, but a few locations will struggle to make it out of the upper 30s. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s to the mid-30s.

A Nice But Cool Day On Saturday: It will be a nice Saturday Across Central Alabama as we make the run-up to the Christmas holiday. We’ll have a good bit of sunshine with a few clouds and afternoon highs will be in the 50s across the area. We stay mostly clear for Saturday evening, but clouds begin to move into the state during the overnight hours. Lows will be in the mid-30s to the lower 40s.
