Hello Sunshine!!!

| January 5, 2019 @ 12:03 pm

What a difference a day makes in our weather across North/Central Alabama; the clouds and light rain from yesterday have finally been replaced with a sunny sky, dry conditions, and mild temperatures, thanks to an area of high pressure which has settled into the state.

Temperatures early this afternoon are in the lower and mid 50s and should top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s by the end of the day.

Tonight the sky will remain clear and lows will fall off into the mid and upper 30s for most of us, so it will be a chilly night, but we are not expecting many freezing temps by first thing tomorrow morning.

SUN-FILLED SUNDAY: If you like today’s weather, you will love tomorrow’s. After the chilly start to the day, the sky will once again be filled with sunshine and temperatures will be warmer. Across North/Central Alabama, highs will range from the lower to mid 60s, while upper 60s and perhaps some lower 70s will show up across South Alabama.

MONDAY/TUESDAY: Monday will be dry, but we should see a few more clouds in the Alabama sky, and temperatures will once again surge into the 60s for most of us, while some 70s are certainly possible in a few spots. A few showers are possible late Monday night and into Tuesday with a weak front which will be swinging through the Southeast. Tuesday looks to be mainly cloudy with the threat for a few showers early in the day. Highs should be in the 60s and 70s once again across North/Central Alabama.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: For fans headed to the San Francisco Bay area for the national championship game, the weather will be wet, breezy, and unsettled this weekend. Rain is likely tomorrow, with showers possible Sunday. For the game Monday night (Alabama vs Clemson, Levi’s Stadium, 7p CT)… the sky will be mostly cloudy with a few showers possible; temperatures will be in the 50s.
