Rain/Storms Increasing in Coverage

| May 3, 2009 @ 12:07 am | 3 Replies

Rain and storms are in creasing in coverage across North Central Alabama late tonight as a convergence zone sets up ahead of a disturbance lifting northeastward along a frontal boundary that has dropped into Northwest Alabama.

Areas from Fayette through Walker, northern Jefferson, Cullman, Blount into northern St. Clair, Etowah, Calhoun and Cherokee Counties will have to be on the lookout for very heavy rain and the potential for flooding over the next few hours.

Flash Flood Watch continues for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston Counties.

A tornado watch continues in effect until 3 a.m. for Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa Counties.

Severe weather is still possible through the night, in addition to the flooding threat, so keep those weatheradios close by and turned on.
