Tornado Watch Coming Soon To The Southern Parts Of Central Alabama

| March 3, 2019 @ 10:22 am

A Tornado Watch may be issued as early as 11:00 am or 12:00 pm for the southern parts of Central Alabama due to the rapid destabilization of the atmosphere that is expected to occur between now and the early afternoon hours.

Signs of discrete convective development is already occurring, and with time, conditions will become more favorable for a threat of tornadoes. The tornado risk will be greatest over the extreme south and southeastern parts of the area, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out as far north as Tuscaloosa to Vestavia Hills to Saks.

We’ll continue to keep you posted throughout the day.
