A strong low pressure system will move through the Plains today and lead to a tightening pressure gradient across the Tennessee Valley. This will cause strong gusty winds across the forecast area beginning this morning and continuing through Thursday. Sustained winds between 15 and 20 mph are expected, with gusts up to 30 mph. Isolated instances of gusts up to 35 mph are also possible during the overnight hours.

Motorists should be alert for sudden gusts of wind, particularly in high profile vehicles, and on east-west running highways.
