Clearing Skies But Still A Little Cool At Midday

| March 21, 2019 @ 11:45 am

As we are making the approach to the noon hour, much of Central Alabama has mainly clear skies with the exception of the northeast corner of the area. Some lingering clouds remain from the weak system that passed through the area during the pre-dawn and early morning hours today. No rain is showing up on the radar as our air is just really dry. Temperatures are currently in the 50s to the lower 60s. Birmingham was at 55º while a few locations were tied at 61º as the warm spots. The cool spot was Talladega at 52º.

Skies will continue to clear out and we should end up with mostly sunny skies prior to sunset. Afternoon highs will be in the 60s throughout the area. For tonight, skies will be clear and temperatures will plummet into the mid-30s to the lower 40s for the overnight lows.

It will be a brilliant day on Friday as skies will be sunny and temperatures will be warmer. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid-60s to the lower 70s across the area. Skies will remain clear for Friday night and temperatures will be dropping into the upper 50s to the lower 60s by 7:00 pm and into the lower to mid-50s by 10:00 pm. Overnight lows will be down into the mid-30s to the lower 40s.
