SPC Drops Slight Risk, Marginal Risk Remains

| March 30, 2019 @ 8:27 pm

SPC has removed the Slight Risk for severe storms for the rest of the evening but leaves the Marginal Risk up for locations west of a line stretching from Linden (Marengo Co.) to Chelsea (Shelby Co.) to Little River (Cherokee Co.).

As of 8:25 pm, the line of storms has entered into the northwestern corner of the state stretching from Florence down to Russellville to Hamilton to Vernon and back into eastern Mississippi. There is a good bit of lightning being displayed at the moment, but none of these storms are particularly strong at the moment.

There is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect over portions of Leake, Newton, Scott, and Neshoba counties in Mississippi, which is the only warning in effect for Mississippi at the moment.

We’ll keep you posted.
