Severe Threat Has Been Removed At Midday, Rain Moving In

| April 4, 2019 @ 11:05 am

CONDITIONS AT 11:00 AM
We have a mass of showers moving into the west and southwestern parts of Central Alabama as we are making the run-up to the midday hour on your Thursday. For the rest of the area, we are currently under mainly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to the lower 70s from northwest to southeast. Birmingham was at 64 degrees while the warm spot was Montgomery at 72 degrees. Haleyville was the cool spot at 55 degrees.

WEATHER FOR THE REST OF YOUR THURSDAY
Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will continue to push into and across the area from the west throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening hours, but the SPC has dropped the risk of any organized severe weather through tonight and into the overnight hours. Skies will be mainly cloudy with highs topping out in the upper 60s to the mid-70s. For tonight and through the overnight hours, showers and a few thunderstorms are likely across the area, but those showers should eventually push out of the state before sunrise. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s to the lower 60s.

FRIDAY’S WEATHER WILL END UP BEING REALLY NICE IF YOU DON’T MIND SOME CLOUDS
After the system moves through Central Alabama during the pre-dawn hours, much of the shower activity will have moved into Georgia by the morning rush hour. The rest of the day looks to feature more clouds than sun but temperatures will be approaching the warm category. A few lingering showers may be possible over the extreme east and southeastern parts of the area through the late morning hours. Afternoon highs top out in the mid-70s to the lower 80s. Friday night will be partly cloudy and dry with lows only dropping into the mid-50s to the lower 60s.
