Areal Flood Advisory Issued For Parts Of Lamar County Until 1:15AM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for…
    Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 115 AM CDT.

* At 1013 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen in the past six hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
    Vernon, Sulligent, Detroit, Beaverton, Blooming Grove, Lamar County
    Airport, Crews, Bedford, Gattman, Cody, Henson Springs, Lamar
    County Public Lake, Star, Pine Springs and Hightogy.
