Showers and Storm Push Southeast

A healthy line of showers and storms was pushing southeastward across Central Alabama tonight.

They have not been severe so far, but that may change shortly with some strong storms moving out of the Meridian area toward southern Sumter and Choctaw Counties in West Central Alabama.

There is also a particularly nasty storm in southwestern Tuscaloosa County that is going to affect areas from Tuscaloosa down to Moundville and over to the Brent/Centreville area.

The leading edge of our line now extends from Anniston to Pelham to West Blocton to Akron to York.

The storms are pushing southeast at 20-25 mph.

Watch out for deadly lightning, gusty winds and torrential rains.
